Re: Never seen a player expressing so little joy after a GS win

Re: Which Australian Open title was the best by Serena?

Re: Wimbledon 1997 Martina Hingis def. Anna Kournikova 63 62

That's a fascinating look back in history. It's only a little over 10 years ago, but it feels like another era completely.

The two of them make that kind of tennis look extremely easy -- easy...

Re: Sharapova: a new Monica Seles?

They seem very different to me because their stroke production is so dissimilar. Monica had compact, explosive power. She took the ball extremely early, standing far into the court when possible. ...

Re: Goolagong Cawley finally a world No.1

Good news for Chrissie is that it doesn't affect her "rank" in terms of weeks at No. 1. Also, although it lowers her consecutive weeks at No. 1 significantly, she is still in third place either way:...

Re: Why is Aranxta Sancez Vicario so ignored in tennis history?

Well, she hasn't been forgotten by her peers.... recently she was selected for two categories --- defense and overhead (!) -- in ESPN's "Perfect Tennis Player" feature:

Re: YEC Red Group: Ana Ivanovic defeats Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-1, 4-6, 7-5

Re: Hingis vs. Serena: Favorite Match

2001 AO -- they were so evenly matched, and the third set was very unpredictable and dramatic.
