What happened to Stosur's second serve?

It was once hailed as one of the best second serves in the women's game, but since the YEC last year I have noticed she is throwing in TONS of double faults. I'm not aware that she had any shoulder related injuries or surgeries (just know of the ankle surgery in the off season). I would have thought she would be so confident in the technique of this particular shot that it wouldn't really break down even if the rest of her game goes awry, but apparently not. Is it just lack of confidence? Or possibly somehow she is not getting as much spin on the ball as she used to?

Lack of confidence.

She said to Molik in the offseason that she'd developed the yips with her second serve, even in practise and she had no idea why.

she's lost the plot, with a broken game to begin with.

Never existed on a consistent level, therefore was an over-hype ...easy come, easy go  Nowadays you can easily find that 2nd serve in the stands

It was never that amazing to begin with. It may have worked on shorter opponents (didn't stop her from losing to Errani though), but most girls just stepped right into it such as Sharapova and Venus.

It will come back once she leaves Australia.

I think part of it was it was so hyped that opponents started working harder on returns to it. I remember seeing someone (can't remember who) practicing in Brisbane, their coach was serving them kickers and the player was bashing them back down the line.

Still an awesome serve when she gets it right.

When a player loses her confidence, the serve is usually one of the main victims. Look at Kvitova's serve, it's turned from a big weapon to a monumental liability that drags the rest of her game with it.

It decided to take some time off tour and go travelling, along with her brain.

People finally realised how overrated and predictable it was so now she's trying to hard to make it and put too much on it. Bless.

I see zero lies here.

Stosur's whole game is predictable and rigid as hell, and the serve even more so. No wonder she's started to try and over-compensate.
