Australian Open 2013

Wozniacki is her first round opponent.

Sabine will have 20 times more winners and UE than Caro.

You troublemaker Mike!!

This may not be such a bad draw
It will possibly get night match billing, and Sabine likes the big occasions & atmosphere, plus Wozniacki has been disappointing in slams of late

I definately think it's a much better matchup than she could've received. It's funny that I just downloaded this video from youtube the other day and now she draws Woz in the 1st round. I had a feeling Bine would meet her again  and watching these old matches gives me confidence, even though it's 4 years ago and on a different surface.

Of all the seeded players, this is pretty much she best she could get. The match is completely on her racket, if she plays like in Brisbane she will win.

Re: Australian Open 2013

Intriguing match-up. Lisicki leads the h2h, 2:1, but Caro won their only hc match, at the 2008 AO.

THIS !

As much as i would enjoy a match between Sabine and Caro, but on HC at the AO in 1R i don't like it.
80/20 in favour of Caroline. Saw all her matches and she did improve a lot in Sydney

This will be a gamechanger match, since both have a fair amount of their points at stake here. Both will fall like a rock in the Rankings without those points.:help:

Haha...and I think you would like it :p
Why not in rd 2 against "baby boom" Vekic? :tape:

Well...Sabs LOOKS and SOUNDS better than last season, & Caro has struggled overall of late. I have a feeling Sabine can pull it off!

Thanks Mike for posting. This match holds special meaning for me as it was the first time I became familiar with Sabine and the only time in my history as a sports fan I have started an event pulling for one side as a favorite and ended pulling for the other side. I've always been very loyal to my sports favorites, so needless to say, there were all sorts of weird feelings during that match. :inlove:

I've been looking forward to another rematch, but not so much in the first round of a grand slam. Anyway, I haven't been able to locate this match in years, so it will be good preparation for the rematch!
