I was at her match today. She played so well :hearts: Her depth of shot was too short in the first set but she corrected that in the remainder of the match. She also didn't call her coach on in the 2nd or 3rd sets which is good also I think.

There was a big rain-delay at 5-3 in the 3rd set, right when she had the momentum of the match. That was a bit unlucky but she came back and served really well to win it.

Next match is against Daria Gavrilova!

Hi Lachy!
Could you please tell something about Ormaechea's game in this match?
Thanks in advance!

Vania won her second qualifying round 7-6 6-7 6-2 over Gavrilova.

Up next Sirotkina or Pervak

She played pretty well. Served well. Was hitting pretty big off both sides. I think it was just her consistency that let her down. But that's what Vania does to people

I also went to today's match vs. Gavrilova. It was so intense :sobbing: Daria was so fired up and it was incredibly hot out there

Lost to Pervak 6-7 6-3 3-6

She is in the doubles draw with Ammanduraova

She shouldn't have lost that today :sobbing: She was the better player in the 1st set but just lost her concentration at the end.

Sad she couldn't qualify at the first tournament of the season.

Still a nice effort :) Hopefully she'll do well with Akgul in the doubles draw :bounce:

Why didn't Vania get the Sharapova lucky loser spot? She's ranked higher than Tsurenko, who is now in the semis of the main draw?

Apparently she forgot to sign-on after she lost her 3R qualifying match. :tape:
