I see she's only planning to play one warmup event before AO. Hope the back injury is fully healed now.

I'm not sure, but taking a look at Sydney's Q draw, I don't know if her ranking allowed her to even play the Q :/

She will be play in doubles with Flavia. I can't understand her decision. AO is her first tournament in this year. Weird.

Does she want to become a doubles secialist? Should have gone to Hobart. Gisela needs to get her singles ranking up. The only thing I can think is that she & Flavia felt they needed match practice before AO and Giselas sacrificed her singles for that. Maybe she should have played Auckland.

This seems plausible. They do have that AO title to defend. I really do hope she's not planning to become a doubles specialist. It'll be a waste of talent.
As for Auckland, she would have needed to spend NYE away from home to play there and maybe it's not something she wanted to do. :shrug:
