Kvitova Ready!

Czech Petra Kvitova is hoping to rectify a disappointing start to the season where at the Hopman Cup and Brisbane International she failed to win a singles match.

"I'm better than this, I know that much." she said.

Struggling to control her errors and temper has been her undoing.

"I've had some close matches but I've always been the first to blink and make the errors and lose. This week I'm hoping to announce myself on the NTT Tour stage properly."

She opens against Bojana Jovanovski.

Jankovic talks about Brisbane and her draw

Jankovic arrives in Sydney in full force

Serbian superstar Jelena Jankovic has arrived in Sydney for another edition of the Medibank International and we went to ask her some things. Currently world number 4 the Serbian started the season in Brisbane with a win over Justine Henin. Eventhough the good start, Jelena went to lose on the second round. A loss for which she blamed lucky shots.
"Well you know when you are trying to play your game and your opponent keeps getting lucky shots, (some even seemed like she was trying in purpose). I have nothing against cake, I mean, Marion, but it's hard to get your rythm on the court when your opponent keeps on getting lucky shots."

Jelena yelling at a member of her coaching staff after Brisbane loss to Bartoli

When asked about the Brisbane tournament condition Jelena replied in a moodie way: "Have you seen that court1? I mean it's too small for those big girls of the current tour. No offence to anyone and I am not even talking about their weight. Do you actually see that Heidi girl, her ego is too big for such a small court and then there is always Gilles supporting her... Well, this stays with us, ok?.... We actually play doubles together and I don't want her to know that (I am just doing that to get Gilles back). :hearts: That beatiful men."

Jankovic training to get ready for the tournament

In the last question of this small interview Jelena was asked what did she though of her draw: "I just hope I get to play in the center court. It's actually a big court so it's great for my game to appear. You know, I am a big tournaments' girl." Asked directly what she thought about her Australian opponent Jelena answered: "I think the stage is big enough for me to actually play my best tennis. And we all know what happens when I am on, specially Heidi."

Gisela Dulko won her sixth title

She began the year as she wanted, winning her sixth title in NTT, beating the best in the world and Anne who was the terror of the players.
On Sunday defeated Gisela Dulko in three sets to Anne Keothavong and began the year with a 4-0 record in matches won.

Needed to win matches to believe in her, needed to beat the best to believe in her, I needed a title up again after a long time to believe in her, Gisela Dulko, who thanks to this victory is very close to being the new No. 1 the world.

- I'm happy to win, Anne was the terror of all the players, came from the Hopman Cup winning all their matches, had confidence and was very difficult, but a rapid reaction I sent out a new title and feel very happy - said Dulko

Dulko arrived to Sydney where they look to continue their winning games and raising again a title and become the new number one at the Australian Open, the first grand slam of the year.
