Re: Asia/Oceania Group Zones 1 & 2
I went to this last year :) (although its alittle far away for me to go to this year!)

The teams competiting this year are...
Division One
Australia (strong team)
Chinese Taipei (strong team, won it last year)
Hong Kong (Ling Zhang is a handy player at least...)
India (strong team)
Indonesia (Reasonably good team)
Thailand (Will need Tammy to be fit)
Uzbekistan (Will need Iroda to be fit)

Division crap Two
Jordan (kept getting double bagelled last year...)
Kazakhstan (likewise...)
Korea Rep. (reasonable team, but their doubles combo's are useless!)
Sri Lanka

So in short there is a BIG difference in form between the top division and lower division

Molik to lead Australia in Fed Cup
World No. 56 Alicia Molik will lead Australia's Fed Cup team, along with Nicole Pratt, Rennae Stubbs and Casey Dellacqua in their upcoming Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Zone Group I competition on 30 January - 2 February. Australia's No. 1 player Sam Stosur will be missing from the tie while she recovers from illness.

"It's unfortunate that Sam's not available to play," said captain David Taylor. "But I think having a team that includes three top 100 singles players and two top 12 doubles players gives us a lot of that hope that we can come out on top and advance to a World Group II Play-off in April."

Dellacqua is a relative newcomer to Fed Cup, having played just two singles rubbers, but the 22 year old had a breakthrough year in 2007, cracking the top 100 for the first time.

Eight nations will compete in the round-robin competition held in Bangkok - Australia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Thailand and Uzbekistan - and will be divided into two pools of four. The winners of each pool Play-off will compete in the final on Saturday 2 February.

Re: Asia/Oceania Group Zones 1 & 2
Just letting you know that there will still be two divisions this year (unlike last year). 8 teams in each division. 2 teams from the top division will play 2009 in division 2!
