lin, from the 16 December.

Hong Kong like last year.

Yes, I'd asume it'll provide WC for Aus Open again. :wavey:

I wonder who among the Chinese players will compete this year.

A bit difficult to go for me as it will be right before my Christmas holidays :( .

I think I have a scoop here :D . According to my sources, the Asian Championships will take place in Tashkent from 14-20 October.

But it is not the most important thing :

- the Championships will offer prize money of USD 100,000

But it is not even the most important thing :

- the Championships will offer a wild card for both the men and women Championships  :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Isn't it a great news :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: .

I'll post here in case I have more information. But we can be certain with this kind of enticement that many players will sign in :D .

Thanks for the news! :wavey:

Wow, so the winners get WC for both the Season-Ending Championships, and Australian Open.

I find it incredibly difficult to believe it for the Season-Ending Championships, as nothing like this have been offered before! :D

Steveg Jul 15th, 2002 05:22 PM

Well, I did not receive information about the Australian Open ;) .

I found it hard to believe myself as it looks like it is completely changing the tour championships organisation  .

Season-Ending Championships  I thought it's Aus Open WC before :o .

Are the Season-Ending Championships in Shanghai and Los Angeles,if yes,I think it's unfair especially in men's Season-Ending Championships  .

I still prefer Aus Open WC :) .

King Aaron Jul 16th, 2002 12:04 PM

Aus Open WC would already be enough !!

Steveg Jul 16th, 2002 12:13 PM

With a year-end Championships Wild Card, all the big shots should be there (as I mentioned earlier ;) ).

So these Championships should be much more interesting with already well established players as well as up-and-coming ones :D .

Definitely worth a look :) . I wonder how coverage will be, because if it is the same as for the WTA event, it will be a nightmare :( .

The schedule on the other hand is good because there are not major tournaments attended by Asian players at that time.

lin Jul 16th, 2002 12:27 PM

well,if young players wins,I think it'll be fine, because they can gain experience.

And It's good that all the big shots will be there.

But I still think grab one spot in Shanghai for Men's winner is too much, women's is a little bit better as there will be 16 players.

I wonder non-Asian will think about it...
