Sveta in Miami
 

Well, she put on a good show at Indian Wells, and fell only at the final hurdle. On we go now to Miami on the Sveta roller-coaster. Hoping for a lucky draw and also some inspired play from Sveta, then maybe she can go just one better ... and defend her title!!!

she's seeded 3rd, bye first round and will play nakamura or the qualifier bondarenko in the 2nd round. she has a decent draw to the QFs. if she can get there then she'll probably have a big match waiting for her.

Hopefully the first couple of matches here will be quite easy for Sveta. But then in the fourth round it's likely to be Shahar Peer - I still have vivid memories of that same match-up in the fourth round in Melbourne back in January, but I'm sure the result will be different this time - Sveta should give Shahar a good kicking! Positively, Sveta's form and confidence have returned now.

Sveta has been playing a lot of tennis this spring. She might be tired.
