eurosport is the best!

I just wanted to ask what kind of coverage the Australian Open and Sydney events get on Eurosport. It seemed this year that the Europeans were complaining that they did not get enough coverage this year. In the states I think we got about 70 hours of coverage of OZ and we get NONE of SYDNEY (which pisses me off cuz Martina wins there a lot and at Pan Pacific which is also not televised in the States )
I am planning on moving to Germany in December and want to know what I can expect. I noticed that you guys are getting a lot of coverage of the fall event and I think you got good coverage of the winter indoor events like Paris and Antwerp in February and the Middle Eastern events. Is that correct?
Also wanted to know if Charleston, Indian Wells, Miami, Amelia Island, Stanford, Los Angeles, San Diego, Montreal, Memphis, Scottsdale, Sarasota, New Haven and other North American events are covered.
Any information about coverage of these events or other Asian or Pacific events. I assume that European events are well-covered.
Many thanks in advance!

Eurosport is a great channel

Nice idea - but will never happen - Tennis just doesnt rate that well or bring in the advertisiers for them. They get amazing ratings during the Grand Slams - but as they show so much tennis throughout the rest of the year - and most of it tends to be during the day when people are at work - viewers only tend to tune in occassionally (apart from the die-hard fans of course).
At the Grand Slams though - women's matches rate higher than mens... At the 2001 Aussie Open - when Jen first won - 17 or the highest 20 matches were womens - which is a great statistic...

Eurosport should make a Eurosport 2 too and dedicate that to just tennis
Only Sky has separate channels for sporting events that i know of across the whole world
Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and Extra

|ColinB||yeh Eurosport really do give Linz great coverage - It is a quiet sporting week for them which is why they can devote so much time to it earlier in the week. It is weekends that are always busier for sport which is why Eurosport often drops live tennis for recorded. For example they are contracted to show MOTO GP bikes live - so if it is at the same time as the tennis at the weekend, the tennis has to become recoreded. But great coverage for Linz - along with Rome, it probably more gets airtime than any other event.|
