Vaidisova and Safina, uh. . .don't think so given that all the current eight are playing well and are healthy. I don't expect more than one or two slots to be up for grabs: one or two of the Russians (Petrova, Dementieva, Kutzie will not make it probably).

Which Eight Players will make the YEC?
The year is nearly half way over and the competition for a place in the YEC is really tight, with several players in contention. Of the current top eight in the race, which one(s) will not make it.
And which of the longstanding elite that are not in the current eight will make it: Venus (#24) Davenport (#29) Pierce (#68) and Serena (outside the top 100)
