tenn_ace I went to the Boys 16' competition on Fri, the start of which was at 9. Two rounds earlier (on Wed) they started at 8am. Everyone showed up.

TheBoiledEgg maindraws out tomorrow.

another report said alot of players didn't turn up cos of World situation.

but playing at 8am isn't too good esp when you have to wake up around 3 hours before hand (5am in this case) to get ready , a meal and a hit.

Martian KC When will the maindraws come out?

tenn_ace Should we raise money for these players to buy alarm clock?

this was the highest level of irresponsibiility I've ever seen. oh well... I'm sure none of htese girls were dreaming of top 50 in pros anyway.

Randy H Wow, very disappointing that there were this many no shows in the draw, shame.

Too bad for Anna, Katarina, Daniella, and Veronica, though I can't say I'm too surprised they lost. I wish Katarina would have played in the 16's instead of trying 18's so quickly. Hopefully she can take something from this.

Well done Marie-France, I doubt she'll get past Banada but hopefully she'll prove me wrong

TheBoiledEgg they both get disqualified and her opponent in rd 2 gets a bye into final qual rd.

This wasn't a problem last year or 1999 when only 3 Under 18 qual matches were n/s.
Nov 24th, 2001 05:03 AM
NejedlyKanepi wow thats really strange, really really really strange. i wonder if well ever know the story about this
Nov 24th, 2001 04:01 AM
Martian KC Do they disqualify both, or let the higher rank player win?lol
Nov 24th, 2001 03:29 AM
TheBoiledEgg In some matches both players failed to turn up

and on Saturday they schedule to start at 8am , thats asking for trouble.
Angela Piedrahita lost , but I kinda like her quote she gives on her profile

"God put me on Earth to become a tennis star and I'm not dying until I do!!"

TheBoiledEgg no idea what's been going on but seems like everyone woke up late.

if you're not there 15 mins after you're called onto court you get a n/s.

Katarina Zoricic lost ....... sorry Sharky
