Re: Virginia Ruzici results thread

Does anyone know how Virginia changed her fortunes against Mima Jausovec in the French Open final 1978, having just recently lost the German Open finals pretty easily to her?

Thanks for this confirmation Dennis.
That was also the score on ITF web-site, but they also miss the semi-final score so I was wondering what is the best source. Wikipedia.fr will them keep the 5-7, 7-6, 6-3 result.

Re: Virginia Ruzici results thread

At least Virginia won the more important match they played the week before - the Brighton final.

It's interesting to have a score for the last match, but the previous is not the same.
Any hint on where to find a confirmation ?
John Dolan's books is a very reliable source, and he gives the QF score as 5-7,7-6,6-3.

WTA site is not very reliable. Plus they will never correct an error, even when it is pointed out to them.

Here are Chris Evert and Virginia Ruzici clowning around before their 1981 QF match at the French. Included are some gorgeous (and rare) shots of Ruzici in action, plus post-match comments from Vergie (Ruzici) and of Evert getting her arm iced down.

Re: Virginia Ruzici results thread

Yeah, I do, but we have weekend guests arriving in an hour and I replaced the Bremar Cup programme right at the very bottom of my huge tennis magazine pile in a not-very-accessible place! But I'll do it as soon as they go tomorrow night....
