^ Yeah, I was pretty much expecting her to lose to Arconada...

6:3, 3:6, 3:6 vs. world number 252...

Maybe she at least wins the doubles, although the draw is tough.

I'm really starting to worry about her, this comeback is going at a snail's pace. When she said a few months ago that she'd be happy to enter grand slam main draw on her own ranking next year, I thought she was being modest. Turns out she was being realistic.

Got 3 games against #311.

Something's obviously wrong this week. Hopefully she sorts it out soon.

#176 in two weeks.

Next she plays Quebec City Q, week off and then challenger in New Mexico or Tampico, Mexico.

I felt like Larsson was pathetic. No winners, stupid errors, cant get return in play.
Ajla seemed to play mostly in the middle of the court but Larsson would end up missing something more often.

But surely Ajla needed this. Very interesting R2 with Alex.

For Australian Open, she will get WC.
Not sure about SR. She used it in Acapulco, Indian Wells, Nurnberg, Roland Garros, Stanford and US Open if Im not mistaken.
That is 6 tournaments and she has 8 entries. But she entered RG and US Open doubles with SR so really no idea if that counts.

Well done Ajla

A great match, indeed, my stream wasn't that good, but good enough to see that she's playing quite well actually. A very nice display of controlled agression overall.

Another win over a top 100 opposition, another fine step forward, which should place her around 175 at least in the next rankings. At least she's now sure of entering slam qualies on her own, but hopefully she makes it even to MD in Melbourne with her own ranking. Won't be easy and she'd have to leave injuries behind completely in order to do it, but at laast her ranking can only go up, given that she's not defending anything.

Don't know if she can use her SR anymore, but it could come useful for this very purpose, in order to enter some big events before the season's over.

Anyway, ranking is not paramount at this point, she is back, looking healthy, there's no even any bandages on her anymore, and she looks fitter by the day. Results will come, that's a given

Solid start. Hope she can keep it up with the open draw. So glad to have her back and playing well!

That one is for Australia but still nice that she had won. However should have been much easier. Ajla looks very pretty and has amazing body now, hopefully Kurgios will see her with some nice guy next to her and get huge meltdown [emoji848][emoji48]

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread! - Volume 2

And another return winner Ajla in 2nd round Good use of SR for Slam, will mean a lot to her ranking! Now against Krunic, I think I'm gonna cheer for Aleks actually But despite this can be seen as "good chance" to avoid Konta, I think it is not. Krunic played incredibly well against Konta (despite Jo obviously wasn't on her best) and Aleks is surely favorite!
