Thankfully they won the Sunderland title without dropping a set. In their semi final the first set went a a tie break but then they finished with a bagel. At least we know they aren't completely out of form but there will probably be some tougher double teams at Fed Cup.

They are in a very difficult rankings range. Not high enough to play slams or premier tour events, but too high to gain ranking points from most ITFs - and it's not like they have a wide variety of tournaments to chose from at the minute. I'm assuming they're hoping to get into the Antwerp draw after Fed Cup then who knows from there?
The tour doesn't seem very well designed for upcoming doubles specialists, only for well established ones and single players with an interest in doubles... I guess they will need a combined ranking of around 100 to get into the premiers and grand slams? I think they can do it though.

I think their best bet is to go for WTA internationals and some 100ks and 75ks. Seems a bit pointless to play a 10k but I guess it's better than nothing.

Nice interview! She's right, they can beat any of the doubles teams in GB's group. They seem very determined. Just hope the lack of real match practice doesn't hurt them.

Re: Anna Smith Thread

I'm really glad she made the team. Once Laura is healthy again, the team will be very strong. Hopefully we can get to the playoffs this year though.

Finally, another win for Raith! 62 75 against Beck and Klemenschits. Did anyone see it? It was on center court so it might have been streamed but I was out at the time.

Re: Anna Smith Thread

Smith & Rae are back, and playing in Linz! Although they are playing the no.1 seeds Hradecka and Zahlavova-Strycova...

I am guessing they will play Luxembourg next, as they like indoor tournaments. Good luck to them!

Lol, that's a very good way to remember it.

Oh, I didn't realise Anna is half Swedish. I guess it must have been quite a big deal to get to the final of Bastad then. I just hope she will still play more with Jocelyn...
