Re: Ana Vrljic cheering thread

Playing the $50K Antalya this week. Drew the #2 seed, Jorovic, in R1--and got beaten badly. Lost 16 16

Retire...?

Hozumi only beat Aiava in the final though, and it was on clay.

Good start for Ana! Hope she can make a deep run again

Ana playing #4 seed Hozumi in R1 two consecutive weeks

Last week Ana lost but today she avenged that loss--and she was down a break in the third

Still a good week. Stefkova-Pivovarova is a really odd final though.

Hopefully she can use this boost in form. I think she should find more indoor hard/grass tournaments to play, preferably weak ones in Asia.

SF as predicted
If she keeps it together she even has a chance to go all the way.

Re: Ana Vrljic cheering thread

Great job Ana! She is way better than a lot of these girls playing the 25Ks, but she had some very bad draws like Tessah A so this is a great effort to put it past her and make the SF

She can beat Stefkova. Final against Sara Tomic would be to die for

Keep it going Ana

Looks like she won't be moving much up the rankings unless she goes all the way here, but it's nice to see her winning none the less.

As for ajmo's suggestion of her becoming a doubles specialist, I agree that from a financial standpoint it might've been a good idea, but of course that would to a degree depend on partners she'd be able to get. Case in point, Darija made over $100k last year, and already over $50k this year playing doubles only. Won't make you a gazillionaire, but it can keep your career going at least. Just for comparisson, Ana last year won around $20k from playing both, singles and doubles

Anyway, good luck against Stefkova

Ana into the SF

Beat Whybourn pretty easily, 62 63

Plays Stefkova next (#286)

Good luck!

Re: Ana Vrljic cheering thread

Never understood why Ana didn't become doubles specialist. I guess she likes singles tennis that much.
She could easily have a career like Jurak in doubles, if not even better.

GL in the rest of the week

Great chance for a SF out of nowhere.

Re: Ana Vrljic cheering thread

Ana beat Kinard and is into the QF of a $25K

Plays Whybourn, a Q ranked 745 (but CH 250 in 2013).

Good luck, Ana!

Re: Ana Vrljic cheering thread

Ana
She should win her next round too as long as her movement doesn't get exposed.

Re: Ana Vrljic cheering thread

Great to get back into the winners circle. Mildura is grass, so that's probably why she won tbh.

She can easily routine Kinard if she plays like she did last year or basically any other year of her career except for this year
