Re: Dayana Yastremska

She was honestly very dire the entire match. Her shots weren't very penetrating and she had to take a MTO at 4-1 in the second set. I don't if it was breathing issues or something with her lower ribcage. Weinhold just played a topspin game and didn't have a lot of length, while Dayana just missed and missed again. Once she started to pick it up at least a little and cut some of the most random errors out she seemed to be in control, but I only watched parts from there on out. It still wasn't a very good match tbh. I also saw her walking past with her mom and she pointed towards he rlower ribcage again. I hope it's nothing serious. Her knee wasn't taped anymore btw.
Hoping she will be fine to compete in MD. Winning a match ugly like this one should give her some confidence. But you saw very little of what she is capable today.

Re: Dayana Yastremska

In the 1st round Daya will be playing vs Magdalena Rybarikova (who won 100k tournament on grass last week). It will be a good exam for her.

Re: Dayana Yastremska

Daya won match against (WC) Ashley Weinhold (USA) 3-6 6-2 6-2

It was a tough 2h match for Dayana. In the 3d set she had 0-2, and Ashley got a few BP's on Daya's serve.

Congrats, girl with your 2nd WTA main draw this season )

Re: Dayana Yastremska

Any other surface then that win would be expected but on grass thats a good win for Dayana.

Larcher knows her way around a grass court despite being weaponless

Re: Dayana Yastremska

Yeah, I could only find a stream for the mens matches.
The scoreline looks like it was competitive although the stats show Dayana only hit 34.3% of 1st serves in along with 10 DF's. Total points was 59-75.
Hopefully better luck at Nottingham if she can get in there.

Re: Dayana Yastremska

Considering she was slightly injured and that Océane Dodin, having her best yr so far. This is not bad lost and judging from score line she put up good fight.

Re: Dayana Yastremska

She lost 5-7 4-6 to Océ

Don't think there was a stream

Dayana plays Dodin in round one. There should be plenty of fireworks in this match. I sure hope there is a stream for it.

Re: Dayana Yastremska

My twitter friend was there. She beat Ankita Raina 6-3 6-4 but seems to have hurt herself in the process.

Re: Dayana Yastremska

She later beat Birrell 7-5 7-6(3) which sets her up to play Ankita Raina next.

Re: Dayana Yastremska

She beat Pride of Bristol 6-4 7-6(4) - she was up 5-2* in the 2nd set, got broken to 30 while trying to serve it out (how surprising ) but still didn't let it all slip away
