Re: Do YOU have a good drop shot?

I do only if I use it appropriately (i.e. pushing someone behind the baseline). I get a decent enough spin on it so it stops, but that's really about it.

Re: Do YOU have a good drop shot?

If I don't think about it and just hit it, I have a pretty good drop shot and drop volley. If I try or think about hitting it they usually suck.

Forehand, yes. Backhand, no. But I continue to progress.

Backhand is my stronger side so it's more tempting to go for winners on that side.

Re: Do YOU have a good drop shot?

It's okay. Used to be good when I played a lot of tennis and practiced it.

Re: Do YOU have a good drop shot?

If I'm concentrating, sometimes it is decent...although a lot of the time, it either hits the net or isn't short enough and sits up.

I like to use a lot of slice off my backhand though...mainly because my 2-handed backhand is a bit unreliable. Hoping that will keep giving me confidence.

Completely non-existent. Unless when I'm on the run and I'm going to be late for a ball I use a slice and it falls so short it becomes a drop shot lol.

Re: Do YOU have a good drop shot?

I love to hit dropshots and in fact I hit most with my forehand. I find it easier to control them and place them. I still need to work on it a little bit though, they jump up higher than I would like. On my backhand I find it harder because I also hit backhand slices and the differences between the backhand slice and backhand dropshot is still a bit of a problem for me.

Shonami Slam I hit quite alot, obviously moreso with my bh side, and since i play a few different types of bh shots - flat, top spin, moonball, slice and side spin - it usually comes as a surprise and spins ALOT.
I hit dropshots loaded with sidespine from gets. It sits high and seems like an easy vall for my opponent and then jumps away so much they either miss it, or i can get back into the point on the offensive.

Sadly, my forehand one is only good for cross court and lacks any spin on it and is not as succesfully executed, as is my foreside as a whole.

I can pull of some pretty wicked drop shots/drop volleys but can't hit a decent lob to save my life

If it makes it over the net the point is mine 95% of the time.
