Haha Cindy is getting some inspiration from Misa's wins.

Re: Cindy Burger

She thrashed Baric 62 61 and won a tough quarterfinal against Dzalamidze 26 63 62 from 26 13 down

I'm happy she collected some points here, she needed them because she isn't sure yet for AO Q. Until the end of the year she only has 23 points to defend from now on so I think she should be safe now. Would be great if she could return to Australia at the beginning of next season and it would be her first appearance at the AO

Semi vs. (Q)Tjandramulia which seems like a good draw on paper.

Re: Cindy Burger

Cindy went all the way to Australia She's playing 3 25k's in the coming weeks in Cairns, Toowoomba and Brisbane (the latter which is held at the Queensland Tennis Centre, the same venue for the WTA tournament in Brisbane)

She played her first round in Cairns today against Pia Konig who also travelled all the way to Australia from Austria. Cindy managed to win 75 62, but she struggled in the first set as she was down a break for most of the time and Konig served for the set at 35*. 2nd set she saved breakpoints to go down 0-2 and instead broke Konig in the next game after which she quickly went ahead 5-1* and finished the job.

Hope she does well here because it would be a big disappointment if she has a bad trip here considering all the efforts to even get to Australia Cindy is really inconsistent on HC though, she hasn't played many matches on this surface compared to clay.

2nd round against (Q)Nives Baric which obviously she should win.

Re: Cindy Burger

Yeah, Cindy had *4-1 in the first.

Pretty horrendous week, Kiki and Lesley lost (to respectable opponents), Indy and Richel retired, Arantxa just lost 1 and 2...

Progressing nicely so far. Slowly but steadily. Curious how far she can go.

Re: Cindy Burger

Cindy reached the quarters at 100k Biarritz today She had trouble in R1, beating (Q)Sanchez-Quintanar 62 36 63 and today she pulled off a huge win against Oceane Dodin 57 75 64

She had *5-2 in all of the sets though and missed 2 setpoints in the first at *5-3 40-15.

A win is a win though, these are her first wins in a 100k ever too.

Re: Cindy Burger

Siegemund is doing pretty well, so no shame there imo.

Re: Cindy Burger

Wow, tough draw. I don't think she's capable of beating Siegemund, especially regarding the form she's in....
