Mini choke in first set against Barty today, but then took the next two sets to earn a place in MD.

She's also playing doubles with Chan Hao-Ching again, they have been drawn against Konta and Siegemund.

Jelenichok won in 3s against Brianti, I guess she choked the 2nd set. Brianti is nowhere close to her average level, so it is kind a sad to let her win 2nd set in tiebreak
Come on.

How comes a cargo-culted hypocrite knows who is a nicer person to anyone civilised? What do you really know about Mona or Kristina to judge shit? And why are you trying to feed us with that?! This thread's about Yelena Yevgenievna, if you noticed

Pliskova flop in the final is the reason she will never be a good player It is good Mona won though, nicer player and person won.

Still I wouldn't have appreciated Yelena win her 1st singles title in an Intl, especially on red clay she's not fully into, coz it'd be so bouchardesque and pathetic. It shall be a grasscourt or IH premier which narrows it to Birmingham/Eastbourne or Petersburg, anything else just ain't gonna be right or yet unimaginable. When she opens the Pandora box she can sweep'em all wherever she likes, but her maiden title must be something special, not an act of despair So let the vultures have those Prahas and Rabats. I hope Penko's above that and her time is nearing and she'll go for Birm'm. Just saying

Re: Jelena Ostapenko

She was too tired/injured to compete against Pliskova. And she has withdrawn from Madrid qualies, but still playing in doubles. Good week in Prague anyway, hopefully she can rest and recover before Rome and get some good results there.

I believe Lena must get that win over Sakkari in Madrid Q1, then let it go against Petko, yet still as a high seed she might sneak into MD as a LL. Sounds perfect. Anyway, whatever happens in Spain, she needs to rest.
