Re: Helen Ploskina

"Lost today in final. But still a good week for me ☺️ Now few days for rest and preparation to the next tournaments.💪👍🎾😌"

That was her 2nd pro singles final (she won a 10K in SES in Oct 2013)

Re: Helen Ploskina

Helen is back in actio this week, trying to vulture 10K Cairo

She's through to the final, with wins over Lisa-Marie Maetschke 4-6 6-3 6-2 in R1, 2nd seed Sandra Samir (same age, junior CHR of 13, WTA 501) 1 & 0 in R2, 8th seed Julie Razafindranaly 1 & 3 in QF, and 4th seed Berfu Cengiz (a year younger, junior #51, WTA 617) 6-4 7-6(4) in SF today

She will face leftie top seed Naomi Totka (20 yo, WTA 393) in the final

Re: Helen Ploskina

Well, she played 25K Bucha qualies this week-end and flopped badly to Taisia Polyarush in Q1, 1 & 2 Polyarush is younger than her and has no results

Edit: Well, I refreshed the tournament page like 10 minutes later and it looks like it was an error by CoreTennis, because now it shows it was Helen who won the match 1 & 2. Phewww.

And today she beat (9)Catherine Chantraine, 4-6 6-0 7-6(5) in Q2

Q3 vs. (3)Veronika Kashay tomorrow

Re: Helen Ploskina

Helen played her only 3rd tournament this year (and first since last February) at 10K Bucha in Ukraine.

She beat (WC)Tatiana Perebiynis (the 32 yo who used to be #55 in the world and has been playing a few tournaments this year) 2 & 3 in R1, and top seed Olga Ianchuk (WTA 253) 4 & 1 in R2, but lost to Moldavian moonballer Alexandra Perper 6-7(6) 2-6 in QF

So she's played only 3 tournaments so far this year, and only at home or very near... (2 tournies in Ukraine, 1 in Moldova). I thought she was maybe busy with school, but I'm now wondering if she isn't struggling financially?

Re: Helen Ploskina

Helen is playing G2 Donetsk City Cup this week, her 1st tournament of the year. And she's through to the SFs!

She's seed 3, beat Oleksandra Andrieieva 6-0 7-5 in R1, Alina Yeroshenko 6-2 3-6 6-1 in R2, and Sofya Golubovskaya 1-6 6-1 6-1 in QF.

SF vs. (1)Daria Kruzhkova - please beat her! Also, hope she's working hard on beefing up her game as much as possible...
