She posted a comment on Instagram:

"A tough night and day for me. Sorry to everyone who came to watch and support me today to watch my finals. I'd like to thank you all and also the tournament and all it's staff for making it such a good week."

Still no idea exactly what was wrong. Sounds like a virus or food poisoning. It was enough to keep her away from the final and the trophy ceremony.

Just read there is a walkover, hopefully nothing serious

Re: Sofya Zhuk

It seems Sofya is unwell and has had to pull out of the final. Khazaniuk is playing an exhibition match against Michaela Honcova instead.

Hope it's nothing serious and she gets well soon. How unlucky!

SF: [3] Sofya Zhuk def. [7] Katie Swan 6-4 6-1

That was a performance where Sofya got better as the match went on (and Katie possibly got worse).

Her first serve was very good, really set up her points for her. The second serve is still a little attackable but she was winning a similar level on it to Katie.

And with her groundstrokes, particularly in the second set she was moving the ball around and hitting very flat into the corners. She was also employing a tactic of occasionally throwing in moonballs to push Katie back and then trying to flatten it out for a winner - didn't always work and she was doing it less towards the end.

Sonya played the big points better. There were lots of close games but she almost always got herself out of trouble. Converted most of her BPs and saved most of the ones Katie got.

Katie was having some trouble with her right arm which may have affected her as the second set wore on. She eventually was trying to serve and volley to change things up. Sonya actually won the last 11 points in a row.

Faces top seed Deniz Khazaniuk in the final.

SF: Zhuk v Swan

Katie broke in the opening game, then Sofya broke back immediately. They were 20 minutes in, on serve at 3-2* when the match was halted.

No idea why. The weather reports there are good, say little chance of rain.

Can't see a livestream for it so no clue what's going on.
