Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Nice win for Roberta today against Doi! She will play Karolina Pliskova in the QFs of Brisbane tomorrow, good luck!

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Playing catch up...

Tough loss at Eastbourne to Makarova but obviously good preparation 4-6 6-4 6-3

Wimbledon 1R: Roby defeats Alison Riske 6-2 5-7 6-3
Wimbledon 2R: Roby defeats Ying Ying Duan 6-3 7-5
Wimbledon 3R: Roby versus Coco Vandeweghe

Roby is playing with a lot of confidence now but Coco will be a very tough out on this surface. Hoping for the best.

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Roby lost 6-1 6-3.

Time to dust off the clay (good riddance!) and head for the grass.

I hope her foot is ok

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Well Kiki won both singles and doubles in Nurnberg so it makes the loss sting a little bit less.

Formidable draw for Roby with her meeting the dangerous Kateryna Bondarenko first round. Potential opponents in subsequent rounds are tough but she cannot afford to look ahead.

Roby has a 2-1 lead H2H but they haven't played since 2009. Hoping Roby will bring her 'A' game, get past Kateryna, and pickup some momentum and confidence to make it to the second week.

FORZA! ALLEZ! VAMOS! (Is that last cheer allowed?)

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Roby lost 6-4 7-6(4) after leading 4-1 first set.
She battled back from a break down to even the second set at 5-5 and had a 2-0 lead in the tiebreak but Kiki played a great match so kudos to her.
Hopefully a good draw for RG!!!

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Roby opens Nurnberg three set win over Barbora Krejcikova 6-2 2-6 6 3 in the first round.

Lots of points to defend and a tough matchup with Kiki Bertens awaits next round. Good luck Roby

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Assuming no one ranked higher gets a WC for Nurnberg, Germany, Roby will be the second seed there behind Kerber. Hopefully she can win a couple of matches and gain some confidence before heading to Paris.

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Roby got rid of the nerves in the second set but Johanna came up with some big serves and shots at critical moments in the second to win 6-0 6-4. Hopefully a better draw and some wins in Paris before grass and hard court season starts. Carry on!

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Johanna Konta will be a tough second round matchup in Rome but I trust Roberta will persevere tomorrow

Re: Forza Roberta!!!

Disappointing loss to Kovinic in the first round of Madrid, 6-4,6-2. THe match lasted an hour and a half with lots of deuce games; however, Roby won only 1 of 9 break chances.
Unfortunately Tennis TV did not cover the match due to "broadcasting rights"
On to Rome for some home cooking, followed by a week off, then to Paris. Forza!
