Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

She played even better against Svitolina so she seems to have stepped up a gear with the new coach. Her Fed Cup captain has also been in attendance. At the end she tightened up and couldn't hit solid shots but Cibulkova got her over the line with unforced errors.

Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

I've not been very impressed with many of Heather's displays this year but to be fair, today was as good a performance as any I have seen from her for a long while. Hope it's not just a one off.

Great to see Hev find form again!

Considering some of the opponents she could have faced, I don't think Mertens or Pavs next is too bad..

She's not having much luck with the draws but that was a good win.

Cibulkova next, who has not won a match on grass this season. Also, Hev won their last encounter.. Could be promising but I expect it won't be an easy match and Hev will need to play very well.

Re: Heather's Cheering Thread

Heather should be pleased with her performance against Svitolona, probably her best for some time, but the top seeds are just relentless.

Yeah, winning the tournament would get Naomi really close, maybe just outside top 100, but high enough for future GS entry, if she maintains that ranking.

Getting WCs into WTA main draws is a bit of a double-edged sword at the moment. The points and prize money obviously have the potential to be much higher, but there's the risk of faacing really good players in R1. In the Challengers, she'd be seeded, and highly likely to live up to her seeding, and potentially more.

A bit of revenge in the doubles, 6-1 6-0.
