So Laura's first match at Andrezieux-Boutheon will be against Cindy Burger...

Love the name, but don't know much about her game... Laura really needs a win though...

Bring Krajan back pls!!!!!!
It feels like she has no joy hitting the ball atm, even when she hits a beautiful winner. Not postive at all and all we can see is a slow, average Laura Robon.
She even seems to lose the power of her forehand, right? her forehand is not as powerful as before from what i seen in the AO.Her backhand is as weak as hell,no power at all,and with an aditional unstable serve,I just feel like the old Laura is gone,I can't recognize this very average Laura Robson. She is just not mature enough to arrange her career properly.

She is fitter, but instead of just being confused about why it hasn't made a difference to her game I think we need to think more tbh. Everyone does it, but my guess is that she works on things she's already good at and enjoys. Extra fitness won't do too much unless you use it. We saw for ourselves that even in 2012 when she wasn't as fit, she had much better footwork, was running quicker and reacting better. Krajan probably made her do a lot of the necessary drills to improve these aspects.

What I described is laziness. Not working on your weaknesses because it's harder. And we both know there is no excuse for what we're seeing from her on court. Not even running for balls or trying to compete unless the ball is sitting in front of you. None of those little steps in between strikes either (something which the best athletes in Sloane/Serena are lazy with as well sometimes, but they can afford to do it more than Laura).
You're probably right. And even though Laura is experienced enough that she should know these things herself, really to properly start working on her weaknesses she will need to get a decent coach. TBH, it's a huge shame she got rid of Hadad..Although my favourite coach of Laura's was MacLagan, he made her serve AWESOME.

Don't be surprised if deep down inside Laura sees this sports psychologist as a quick fix. I hope it is.
From videos posted it looks like she does work on tennis shots and serves not just fitness. Her movement was appalling and yet she looks slimmer and fitter than ever. Not sure what to make of it really, but could be poor anticipation rather than laziness.

Re: Return Winner: The Laura Robson support thread.

A sports psychologist could be a great move but only if Laura is prepared to listen and act on the advice. Here's hoping.

I'm not sure I'd have her in Fed Cup team at the moment.

I watched the match. BMS played.so terribly she couldnt breathe out there and still won playing very very sloppy

Good direction for Laura to goto a sports Psychologist, should've made this move sooner.

Now listen to reason and get a proper coach!

I distinctly remember falling asleep watching it. Quitova was as bad as she has ever been. It was dis-aster. Sad

You really must not have seen many matches then

Agreed with Sparkle, not a great quality match but it gets a worse rep then it deserves simply because it was a high profile match on Laver back when Laura was known as 'Hypeson' in GM.

I don't know whether I want that to be an excuse or not LMAO. I mean, she should think of her win over Kvitova when she thinks of Melbourne.

Girl needs a better coach as previously well stated by Jaisons. Also a mental coach.

ALL of that waiting to scrape into qualies and she loses to one of the most basic players in existence. Hilarious.
Screaming. That was one of the worst matches i have seen
That match wasn't great but totally overrated in terms of badness. There just weren't very many rallies, but lots of great aces, winners and return winners. Also it was a great testament to Laura's mental strength at the time.

Doesn't matter, still a win over a top player

My guess is..she would rather play the MD of a 60k in Australia than play qualies in a 60k in France and then a 25k in France. Seems a bit risky though, cos if she goes out of the first round of Burnie, it would all be for nothing and then she'd have to get over to Estonia for Fed Cup with hardly any matches played.

Also, she could end up in the MD of Andrezieux-Boutheon anyway...
