Re: Océane Dodin

Great match today, kept a pretty strong level during the whole match (except those 4 df's in a row ) and didn't let Hsieh dictate. Serve was pretty decent as well, specially during important moments.

It seems she was really happy at the end and there were some members of her family from the stands

Hoping for a deep run here just before clay season, she needs to play she did today next match. Match by match of course.

we can hope for her she'll decide to work with a real coach oher than her dad but I wont be upset cause she doesnt. Maturity and wisedome is not easy to have at 20 yo especially if dad wanting to keep being around and traveling with her.

parents in tennis is a REAL ISSUE.
Parents in tennis (or any sport really) can be an issue, but sometimes a parent & daughter/son partnership works well. In this case with Océane & her father, it certainly doesn't seem to be working. I hope she eventually makes the decision to work with an experienced coach, one that she'll click with and who that can raise her level.

Re: Océane Dodin

@améliemomo I can't disagree you there, it seems Océane really could stand to get away from her dad and move out of her comfort zone. I can imagine it wouldn't be easy for her, but it could/would really be for the best. She just needs to find someone who not only will help improve her game, but that she'll click with.

Re: Océane Dodin

dont have a name right now cause all the best already "taken" by ambitious players, but someone who will make her work hard on hitting her shots with top spin and security

someone who will make her work very much on her lazy footwork. You can not just come and say "oh that's ok I will do great cause I have huge firepower"

staying with dad is not the solution, time to experience someone else, a different way of working and not stay to "her comfort zone"

but well it's the same as Garcia, she's so devoted to dad that switching to someone else would be A MIRACLE. She must lose and lose and keep losing to even consider another "alternative"

she was working with goven BUT seemed like she cant stand someone who is trying to "change her game" so she came back with "nice daddy"...

she's not kristina and do need a coach, a quality one. If not she is marching to heavy disappointment this season. It is already a big disappointment but let's wait clay to bigger one.
Is there any coach(es) in particular that you would like to see Océane work with?

For those of you who enjoy horror films.

The commentator thought that perhaps Oceane was injured due to her lack of movement. I'm not sure about that since her movement is average even at her best ... She did seem very uninspired though. I don't know, maybe she does have something which causes her pain and on those painful days she just knows she can't win? Either that or she really, really needs to improve her fighting attitude on any surface except indoors. When she feels like she can't win she seems to stop fighting. Towards the end it was pretty much tanking.

Re: Océane Dodin

I watched this huge mess cause it was just horrible. She didnt care, barely moved or give a fight.

Her dad came after the 1st set and she seemed annoyed. No brain keep hitting big when she had to play with security and patience

that's why she should work with another one than his father cause her game MUST improve! she cant just ballbash the ball to death. She's back to her horrible former BBB game. Just horrible to watch.
