Re: Océane Dodin

Océ lost 6-2 4-6 6-7(3) to Zarina Diyas (former #31, won 100K Manchester last week) today in R1 of 100K Ikley where she was the top seed... She was up 5-3* in the 3rd

Re: Océane Dodin

I completely agree. And her defense has significantly improved too. Let's see if she can reach top 30 by the end of the year.

Re: Océane Dodin

The firepower is there for all to see, but I also think Océ also has good instincts - in the sense that yes, she's limited, but she knows how to play tennis as is learning to do so effectively within her own limitations. It also helps that she seems (i) level-headed and (ii) not too injury prone.

Re: Océane Dodin

Wow. I am really impressed. In the past, Océane has always been clueless on grass, more so than clay, so it is definitely a sign she has improved a lot over the last year.
Next one will be tough, but already a positive week.

and she won 7-5 7-6(1)

nice to see her play this 100K to get some practice on grass, a surface she never been that comfortable on

in SF she'll play winner of rybarikova/rodina

Océ routined Kristie Ahn 3 & 4 in R2 yesterday

QF vs. (8)Naomi Broady is about to start - drag hah!

Re: Océane Dodin

Wow a win on grass!! Against a player who knows how to play on the surface!

Re: Océane Dodin

Océ is the top seed at 100K Surbiton, she's just beaten talented 17 yo qualifier Dayana Yastremska (runner-up at Junior Wimbledon last year) 7-5 6-4

Re: Océane Dodin

I would not be brave enough to make any kind of prediction for Oceane. She has many weakpoints in her game, on defense especially, although she has some interesting weapons. She's fun to watch, that's the main thing for me.

But her improvements in result recently are quite good, a positive sign. She apparently has taken a step in the right direction.

A 67 75 36 loss against Sveta is not bad at all.

Re: Océane Dodin

It seems Oceane's game has become more solid. If she can fix the double faulting, she should be Top 10 at some point with how cleanly she hits the ball.
