Maria is the toughest opponent in the section, shes will slice and slice all day long. Laura need to be patient and keep attacking her backland and moves well. It's really is about patience and timing. Maybe Malcekova and Soylu will knock Maria out, I wouldn't be suprised.

Laura is the best player in that section if she plays well enough.
Comprehensive analysis but I can't believe you left out Lesley Kerkhove! She was the gurl across the net in Laura's first match ever televised by the BBC: the 3rd round of Junior Wimbledon in 2008. Lesley also proved to be Laura's toughest opponent of the tournament, stretching her to 6-7 5-7 in an encounter characterised by bombshell serving from both players. She provided a way sterner test than Mel Oudin in the previous round who'd been elevated to top seed after Simona Halep, the French Open Junior Champion, shat herself after seeing Laura obliterate the field in the warm-up events at Roehampton and Eastbourne and pulled out of the draw. Clearly, Halep had decided "enough" was "enough".

I probably won't be able to sleep until I see a big tick next to Laura's name.

Jang could be tricky. She has half a dozen wins this year over players well into the top 200. She is definitely beatable though if Laura plays reasonably well.

Shinikova is ranked 142 and has been playing a mixture of WTA and ITF events. She plays mainly on clay though, where she has had quite a bit of success, at the ITF level anyway, winning two $10Ks and four $25Ks this year. She has played only 4 hard court tournaments in 2016, with her best result being qualifying at Katowice, where she went out in the first round to Cornet, taking it to 3 sets.

Tatjana is ranked 121. She had a bad start to the year, winning only 1 match in her first 8 tournaments, although five of her losses were to top 100 players. She's done a bit better in the last 3 months but her results have still been only modest. Her best result was the SF of a $100K clay event (lost to Witthoeft, ranked 85) and qualifying for Wimbledon (lost in R1 to Boserup, ranked 225, who then went on to do quite well iirc). She hasn't played since then. This doesn't really count for anything I don't think as it was so long ago and on a different surface but Tatjana beat Laura in their only other encounter, an ITF on clay played in 2012. Funnily enough, Shinikova won that same tournament this year.

So yes, even if Laura faces these players (i.e. she keeps on winning and so do they) she is certainly in with a good chance of qualifying but it will require her to bring her best (current) game.

Hoping for a nice draw, a easy first round opponent to get her footing, than don't mind opponents that can push her a bit in the 2nd/3rd rounds.

I am sure she is very motivated and seemingly in good form. There's much more hope than there would be this time last year (even though she was in the maindraw).
