I stick to my opinion that Nastase is there just for a good PR on our side and wouldn't have changed much if Tecsor was on the bench or 1 meter behind it .

I obviously didn't hear him, but he was trying to motivate them when it was the case and I'm not his fan either, btw. Spirlea was a few years back with the girls. I don't think she's interested anymore in such a thing, even if it would involve a lot of money (P.S: It is claimed that Nastase does it for free. Quite irrelevant anyway).
Thanks

I like that Irina Spirlea has some fire

The most important is that Simona Halep is fit in April

Irina Spirlea was in the past at the Fed Cup team, you probably know this.... but now she's not that involved in tennis. She lives in Italy and focuses on her family and raising her children.
Ok, thanks

The Romanian captain before him (this woman, Tecsor I think) was MUCH better IMO
It's quite laughable IMO that Nastase is Fed Cup captain

Compare him to to Pala (dedicated, great connection to Czech girls, women's tennis knowledge)
Also Pala has a big key to Czech success in Fed Cup, not only the excellent players

BTW how was his coaching in the Fed Cup rubbers ?

Why not take former Top player Irina Spirlea ?

I doubt he implicates himself that much. Those decision most likely weren't his to start with.

GBR is tough (Konta !)

BUT the good thing it is a home tie
-> Home support AND Romania can choose surface
And the GBR players hate clay ! So Romania better choose clay !

Romania needs Simona Halep !!!

Exactly. I have the same thoughts. I dislike Nastase too
The only good about this loss is that Fed Cup captain Nastase lost
I also have the feeling he is no expert in women's tennis ...
And yes, I also think he is not good for the Romanian girls
Why is he even Fed Cup captain ??? Weird choice ...

Re: Fed Cup Romania

One word : FUCK .

We had only a relatively easier opponent since Group I promotion (ok, maybe two, with Canada) and we blew it ... Now it could be all in vain ...

But who says it will be on Clay ? Obviously, that's the logical choice, but who knows ... Anyway, it will be Indoors 99%, as the only outdoors place for this is where the WTA Bucharest is being held, but that arena still has problems and I don't think they want only 2000 seats .

Re: Fed Cup Romania

We could have received an easier opponent. The positive note that will be play at home on clay. Hopefully all the team will be healthy to play. We need the win. Haide Romania!

Re: Fed Cup Romania

So again we play at home, this time against Konta's Gb team... it will be clay so not that bad, hopefully...

Romania needs Simona Halep !!!
Or just a good mental coach / sports psychologist.

The only upside of this painful loss: Nasty started with a flop. I don't really like the guy and I have strong doubts he's any good leading the girls in future ties.

Yes, the loss must have been painful to watch

But from a distance it goes better. Time heals the pain

And what if both Putintseva and Shvedova play ?

Still Serbia I would prefer after Taipei, no doubt, even with the crazy crowd (as it will be played there) .
Putintseva and Shvedova are both beatable
Especially Shvedova who is overrated and one of the biggest headcases
But yes, it could be dangerous if Shvedova peaks

I see no problems vs KAZ, but Simona Halep MUST play !!!
And the other Romanian girls will hopefully have better form in April

Serbia has some tricky talented young players
And don't forget Krunic who is a Fed Cup GOAT, plays her best in Fed Cup
Krunic will pretty sure play in WG 2 play-off tie IMO

I hope Romania draws TPE ! Easy opponent
And 2nd best would be KAZ in my opinion
Serbia is also not that difficult (Ana retired)
I just hope not GB (Konta) !

I hope Simona is ready to play in April !
