Re: Océane Dodin

It has been a great season for Océane overall. I'm so happy for her and can't wait to see what's next for her. Let's keep going onwards and upwards.

Re: Océane Dodin

Océane was not great yesterday, she was talking much to her father

the russian had every answer to Océane game, she's got talent.

Ok so a bit sad she finished that early there but she played and won SO MANY MATCHS this year!

she is 60/26 W/L in 2016 and ranked 69!!!

she started the year 155 so great year for her

we'll talk later about her off season and preparation for next year

Re: Océane Dodin

Océ got bitchslapped by Natalia Vikhlyantseva in R2 tonight, 5-7 3-6

I knew Natasha would be very tricky as she is about as big a shotmaker as Océ and her serve is actually more effective than Océ's... :-/ Too bad these 2 had to face each other so early on

Re: Océane Dodin

she should have been present in fed cup finale. The loss wont have been so tough because Oh My God this Cornet!

I do think Océane should have done much much better, I dont know if she would have beat Strycova but at least she has "this fighting spirit" to never never give up

Allez Océ in Limoges!

Re: Océane Dodin

Another aspect of her game which reminds me so much of Sharapova. Her mental. How she can play like crap for the first part of a match and find herself in a hole... and still comeback with her mental when most would "give up". Sharapova had so many tough first rounds at slams where she was on the brink of defeat before eventually winning the match!
Now if only Dodin could end up with Sharapova's career!! (minus the meldonium please!)

Re: Océane Dodin

The journalist asked her about the difficult start:

- She said that the first round is always the tough one.She started quite confident but the very good start from her opponent surprised her.Regarding her game she made a bad start with many errors, she didn't find the rhythm on serve and when that happens it affects all her game so she just tried to fight and be there mentally and that paid off.

The journalist asked her about what made the difference in the second set :

-She said that it was the serve, she found the rhythm and then she recovered her game. Her opponent was playing good but on her side she made many UE and the fact that she was able to manage her frustration made the difference.

Re: Océane Dodin

She finally managed to win this 2/6 6/4 6/2 after a horrible start, Cadantu led 6/2 4/2.

Re: Océane Dodin

She has PLENTY of time to play Fed Cup in the future. Parmentier is near the end of her career, it's really no big deal IMO. Dodin JUST cracked the top 100 and I think she is here to stay.

Re: Océane Dodin

very weird when you read Océane positive impressions about the team in the tie against Italy in Marseille

Fed Cup - Le bizutage d'Océane Dodin

what a mistake from her if she decided not to embrace that huuge experience, she really needs a pro structure cause she's not that great for now
it wont be a scandal if Amélie doesnt pick her to play singles
she's not ready if she thinks she's not worthy of staying and support the team

go and prove you are a great player who can have consistent results on EVERY surface. She's not there yet.

Jow Yes she was there and maybe she did not like being there just to watch we don't know. So let's see what will happen next year with her in Fed Cup

Re: Océane Dodin

she was there during the tie against Italy in February so she wanted to participate in this fed cup campaign

so now I dont know what have changed, Parmentier is Amélie friend, she's dating Loic Courteau, Amélie former coach

like Jow said Parmentier will bring nothing that great, she's behind Kiki and Caro in term of game, level

at 31 yo she's near the end while Océane is the future

Re: Océane Dodin

With all due respect, I think this Melbourne MD is bullshit. I mean, come on, how can she NOT know she has been in the MD ever since her Quebec win... if we know that, surely she and her team do too!
As for the Fed Cup decision, it just makes sense to me. She wasn't part of the 2016 team, it would be weird for her to just come for the finals. Can you imagine if she played and caused the team to lose, it would be really tough for her. Much wiser to start next year IMO.
