Re: Tara Moore

Tara tweeted a link to this article with some quite interesting biographical details: Coming back for Moore: Born and bred here, Tara Moore to compete at the Hong Kong Open | South China Morning Post

Quote:
Although Hong Kong missed out on a top player, local fans will see the 24-year-old Moore in action for the first time when she takes part in next month’s Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open at Victoria Park, alongside world number one Angelique Kerber, Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki.
Apart from the small number of men and smaller number of dogs who've seen her play ITFs, that is.

Re: Tara Moore

Tara reentered the lists at the USO qualies. Won her first three sets before running out of puff and falling to Lottner in QR2.

It certainly showed today, I think! And yeah, Laura looked horrified by what was happening.

And that's true, but even so... some of the balls are metres out and they allow play to continue. According to the commentator, EWS was frustrated by it, too.

She was also thanking Laura for hitting balls to her on her service games, which I thought was nice!

That is one thing I've noticed about this tournament though, the line calling is shockingly bad, and the umpires have quite the attitude.

But anyway, hopefully she makes a speedy recovery! She's near her career high ranking in singles, and it would be great to see her surpass it soon!

He was definitely bias towards Oudin..acting like she was the second coming.. They both played very well though.

Such a shame what happened today though. I hope she will be back competing soon.

Re: Tara Moore

Tara won the first set against Robson and match was going with serve in the second. Tara called for the trainer at the next break during the game at *2-3. Robson held serve for *3-4 after several deuces. Trainer started to treat Tara's neck and left shoulder, then started applying ice, then, apparently, Tara was sick and lost consciousness with heat stroke. Ambulances were called to take her to hospital. Play on all courts was suspended. (Not sure if that was because the medical resources were stretched or because of the imminent arrival of an electrical storm.)

She plays Laura in the next round, and the match will be streamed after Katie Boulter's match!
