As people have already pointed out, Failniacki is still playing well enough to finish comfortably inside the top 10 this season considering the players who are just above and below her.

And Cake has been playing like shit for ages. She won't be near the top 10 come the clay season.

This statement makes no sense. Having a lot of points to defend actually is a good thing, as it proves the player is good enough to HAVE those points. Maria, Serena and Vika have even more points to defend and nobody brings up that issue!

"Points to defend" The most meaningless term in the tennis lexicon.

The fact that they have tons of points to defend doesn't mean a thing. They're ranked higher, get higher seeded and have easier draws(generally). And Aga has won like 4 times more points than Wozniacki already, Kerber is ahead of her too.

So does everybody else. However, Princess Karolina so far this year hasn't shown anything that would indicate she will improve on last year's results. Hard to say where Errani and Kerber are with their form but Radwanska seems ready to at least match her 2012 season.

Re: Welcome (Back) To The SEWTA Top 10: Marion Bartoli (Our Princess Karolina OUT)

I'm confident she will be back just because the players ahead of her right now are not that consistent. Plus not alot of points separate 5-10. The top 4 may suck up all the points like last year so whoever makes the top 10 may be who makes the most 3rd/4th/QF at all tournaments. You can't depend on Marion to do that all year but Kerber, Wozniacki, and Na Li all could.
-Ana needs to have a good run with a soft draw at a major in order to get in the top 10 because she can't beat any top 10 players.
-Petrova's motivation goes on and off, so no top 10 for her.
-Kirilenko game is too lightweight.
-Errani is not going to have another good year like 2012 because she can't play all the MM that she wants.
