Territory Woohoo! How exciting!

Still convinced Naiktha had WTA potential and this is another indication

Re: Naiktha Bains

Naiktha somehow managed to sneak into Nottingham qualies this week and won her QR1, beating Conny Perrin 64 75

Re: Naiktha Bains

Yeah she's impressed a few times in the AO Playoffs. ITF results will come with consistent playing.

I agree. I've said it before but when all the younguns were in Brisbane qualies this year, Naiktha was the one I thought could really mix it at the higher level.

I think there's a slow build going on with her at the moment. Interested to see how far it goes.

Re: Naiktha Bains

I think her and Daddy Bains are still trying to figure technical things out. Each time I see her play the playoff she's changed her serve Hopefully once they sort all of that stuff out she'll be comfortable and confident with it.

Re: Naiktha Bains

Yes... she has a nice all-round game. She just doesn't have the physicality that our other juniors (Tomic, Hon, Birrell) have at the moment. Still a very slight girl. I think because of this she's tries to over-press, leading to errors (her AO quallie match was a prime example).

When she builds some strength I believe she can be a tour player, just gonna take a while.

Re: Naiktha Bains

Small progress but I still find it hard to get excited about Naiktha. She's never done anything impressive. Hoping it all starts this week though!!

Re: Naiktha Bains

Naiktha qualifies for $50K Eastbourne on grass and has a good chance at a R2 as she has drawn LL Alison Bai who she beat in two sets in qualifying! (and has 2-0 H2H on grass against her).

Naiktha starting to finally make a move on the rankings... will be up to about 465 now, or 445 if she beats Alison again.

Haha yes I know, but it just gets a bit annoying when you say that Naiktha was excluded everywhere and blaming TA when TA wasn't really in the wrong.

Also, Naiktha performs well on big stages so it's not like she would be blown off the court like someone like Nancarrow would.
I have a feeling the playoff would have been decided before Pri won that 10k so results there were irrelevant. They seriously just picked the highest ranked top 4 stop making it such a big deal.

Naiktha wouldn't have even been top 500 before the playoff btw.

Btw, Pri's "average losses" weren't as bad as Naiktha's. She lost to Andrianjafitrimo, huge talent who even received MDWC and Whybourn who has a CHR of 250 (who in fact even beat Naiktha TWICE this year). Whereas Naiktha's losses were to Vivian Wolff (who?) CHR in the 900s and that other 10k scrub Von Deichmann CHR in 300s.

So if Pri had "average losses" then Naiktha had "terrible losses"
