Re: Caroline Garcia

On the more positive note, she has a good rest and time to prepare for the more important tournament next week.

Whilst i would love to see her not get upset and angry, i suppose it does show that she cares about winning and getting results. That is only part of the battle though, she has to channel that more positively than we saw today.

I still see Caro as someone who is growing as a person and tennis player. The foundations/basics are there, it is just piecing the rest of her. That may take some time, or might never happen at all.

It feels like she is still a teenager in terms of her development. I have always said she will be a late bloomer, so we will see.

Re: Caroline Garcia

well like I said last week, better stop playing tennis and make something else. It would be more "adult"

but being like that like a poor thing, about to cry at the end like a little girl
I say it is ENOUGH! she lost the mental battle beacuse too much negativity.
she lost to players she beat earlier so the main problem is in her head, simple as that!
even when her dad speack she barely look at him, Oh my God this image of her head down and shoulders!

If I were her coach I would tell her that same thing I told you but as her dad he just can not
what a shame really, that's why players should never work with their family.
Vaidisova admit it recently. And where is she now? retired not being able to hold a racket anymore
if Caroline wants to be a crybaby, she'll regret it cause this career is short, dont forget it. No time for crying!

Re: Caroline Garcia

Yeah, Caroline's attitude in this match was not very good.

I was a bit disappointed because in recent years she has toned down that behaviour a lot, but she got down and frustrated today which cost her.

Very predictable collapse after failing to take set points in the 2nd.

Caroline's game wasn't quite there. Flipkens was getting the better of the rallies on the most part, so Caro's success came down to her first shot (Serve and return). Return was poor barring a few exceptions, and she served at a low %. Her good second serve kept her out of trouble, but Flipkens got a better read of it as the match went on and put Caro under more pressure.

Overall Flipkens deserved the win. I am not optimistic about her US Open, i just don't see Caro being in the right place to do anything here.

Re: Caroline Garcia

lost 6 and 5

well... I wont be kind with her, I prefer to be direct here

Caroline is going nowhere with that attitude. She is there without "believing" in herself
what this head down means? seems like she has all the misfortune of the world!
COME ON! She is young, healthy and talented, being in the top30 of the sport with so much potential
what are she doing now?
her dad said to her to be more positive and believe the victory to be hers, to go fight and grab it!
No she was too busy having this head and shoulders down like she is "COSETTE" from "les Miserables"!

I wont be kind to her cause it is enough being so childich at her age, there is worst than losing tennis matchs, there are so many people starving to be at her place, traveling around the world and making their life making sport and gain much money

so stop acting this poor girl and take your life on the right track!go and free yourself. Even the handshake was annoying!

Reveille toi bon sang!c'est juste ridicule à ce niveau la!pête un coup et ouvre toi de ta coquille!

Re: Caroline Garcia

A great chance here for Caro to get back to back wins. Then the winner to play Aga in the quarter finals.

But I think we all know what will happen next week, in case she goes deep in New Haven.

Therefore she should already focus on the US Open and regard this week as preparation only. It’s time for Caro to finally go deep at a slam.
So true, I would prefer her to lose in 1st round of those tournaments than flopping in slams like she did the whole season and the seasons before

being seeded is not a garantee of going far, we saw that at wimbledon...Just wish her to to go there relax, be there to give her best and yes ENJOY what she's doing in memory of her loss...

Re: Caroline Garcia

good thing she finallly broke this match losing streak of 0-5, it is good for her mentally cause the last time she played begu she lost, some revenge taste here

well Bencic is a very talented young propspect, she was doing GREAT before this injury which prevented her from playing all the claycourt season

she lost to Babos last week at Cincinnati, not very confident right now so Caro will have opportunities to get the win imo

we'll see cause you never know with that sport, she has to be focus and fight no matter what. Her service stats are very good in her 1st round, hopefully she'll get even better
