^ Admittedly they do have the issue that there is a possibility that, say a Serena Williams might make both the women's singles and doubles or a doubles finalist might also make the mixed finals which can complicate the schedule. Though by mid-week they knew this wasn't going to happen and could've scheduled the final on Saturday or Sunday.

Great job by the girls, I didn't know they took an early break in the 3rd, but the Italians are so tough when challenged.

The scheduling of the doubles final was so poor and basically hidden away in early evening. Why not on the weekend when people can actually see the match and it can be grouped with the other finals.

Ash and Casey on now. So cute. The little girl doing the coin toss is from Hobart and Ash started talking to her and the little girl said she was a ballkid for Ash's match in Hobart

Territory And we have two junior boys playing in SFs and different junior boys in the junior doubles final. Nice to have Aussies to cheer for at the business end of the tourney.

That's why I said her status may have changed recently but the WTA hasn't updated her profile .

As for the payback there is a maximum of $50 000 for 16 and under and $150 000 for over 16s. I posted this article a month ago

Quote:
This year, for example, scholarship holders aged 16 and under must repay 50 per cent of their tournament earnings up to a maximum of $50,000, and over-16s - such as US Open champion Sam Stosur and former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt - are levied 10 per cent, up to a ceiling of $150,000.

The total, more than $1 million, is returned to the development budget, where the four levels of assistance range from $20,000 up to about $250,000, including cash grants, plus coaching, sports science and other services.

Barty has not turned pro so she doesn't get any prize money.(this according to wta websiste but her status "pro" or "amateur" may have change recently)
