I gotta give it to justine.. I thought she wouldn't have a great hard court season, but she has proven me totally wrong.

and kim, well, even though she hasn't had the greatest amount of success at the Us open, I still don't see her having ANY Trouble until the semis..

okay, i'm sticking w/ a relatively healthy venus as my favorite.
You better do, otherwise you will be ashamed. If Venus can play like she played at Wimby.....there won´t be nothing any belgian can do stop her!

Seeing as none of us knows who is going to win, there is little else to discuss aside from "favourites". Granted, that doesn't make it interesting...

Brian Stewart You would think that the US Open would tell the people writing for their website who isn't playing (Panova).

My sentiments exactly. A 100% Venus is the hands down favorite.
Pehaps the writer is taking into account Venus' lack of match play since Wimby.
However, if Mr. Brown is tennis savvy, he should know that the usual rules don't apply to the Williams sisters. The Australian Open was an excellent example of what Venus can accomplish without playing warmups.

Now if she hasn't been able to practice, (particularly to practice against Serena) that's a whole different matter.

Becool Why would Dani be considered a contender anyway?

If she keeps playing bad and looking like an anorexic girl, she won't win a title for a big while
