Any win at the moment is welcome. Even in the first round of doubles at a $60K. No one can say we aren't true fans.

That's a nice result. I remain cautiously optimistic about whether that will translate into success in singles.

Laura is second on court 3 tomorrow.

Burger is 1-3 on the year so far losing to Rogowska, Cepede Royg and Pereira. I mean, of course it's winnable for Laura. But most of her matches should be. Who can tell whether Laura will turn up.

Quite different conditions coming from Australia to Europe. This tournament is on indoor hard court.

Love the name, but don't know much about her game... Laura really needs a win though...
I don't know anything about her game but she's ranked 138, almost a career high, and had 40 match wins last year, often beating players in the 200-300 ranking. Like most ITF players she had a fair few losses as well, including several to players around the 400 mark, so she is beatable but in Laura's current form I'm not too confident.

Bring Krajan back pls!!!!!!
It feels like she has no joy hitting the ball atm, even when she hits a beautiful winner. Not postive at all and all we can see is a slow, average Laura Robon.
She even seems to lose the power of her forehand, right? her forehand is not as powerful as before from what i seen in the AO.Her backhand is as weak as hell,no power at all,and with an aditional unstable serve,I just feel like the old Laura is gone,I can't recognize this very average Laura Robson. She is just not mature enough to arrange her career properly.

She is fitter, but instead of just being confused about why it hasn't made a difference to her game I think we need to think more tbh. Everyone does it, but my guess is that she works on things she's already good at and enjoys. Extra fitness won't do too much unless you use it. We saw for ourselves that even in 2012 when she wasn't as fit, she had much better footwork, was running quicker and reacting better. Krajan probably made her do a lot of the necessary drills to improve these aspects.

What I described is laziness. Not working on your weaknesses because it's harder. And we both know there is no excuse for what we're seeing from her on court. Not even running for balls or trying to compete unless the ball is sitting in front of you. None of those little steps in between strikes either (something which the best athletes in Sloane/Serena are lazy with as well sometimes, but they can afford to do it more than Laura).
You're probably right. And even though Laura is experienced enough that she should know these things herself, really to properly start working on her weaknesses she will need to get a decent coach. TBH, it's a huge shame she got rid of Hadad..Although my favourite coach of Laura's was MacLagan, he made her serve AWESOME.

Don't be surprised if deep down inside Laura sees this sports psychologist as a quick fix. I hope it is.
From videos posted it looks like she does work on tennis shots and serves not just fitness. Her movement was appalling and yet she looks slimmer and fitter than ever. Not sure what to make of it really, but could be poor anticipation rather than laziness.
