Deserves it. Five three-setters in a row. Fought hard for it and got the reward.

Re: Christina McHale

X-Tina just won Tokyo, beating Siniakova 64 in the third after losing the first set. I believe all her matches were three set wins. Great fighting Christina!

Re: Christina McHale

So no one mentioning Christina is into her first WTA final since 2014 at the Tokyo International?

Beat Kozlova, Peterson, Golubic and Cepelova en route. She'll play Katka Siniakova for the title. Neither has won a WTA singles title before so we'll get a maiden winner regardless of result. Christina is slightly higher ranked so will technically start the favourite but she's definitely found her path through the draw more of a struggle.

I like both players so I'm a bit torn on who I want to win. But I hope it's a good match!

Re: Christina McHale

She beat Mona 2 and 2 (Mona has been struggling a lot lately) in R1 of the US Open.

Plays Vinci, last year's finalist, next.

Re: Christina McHale

Christina showed mental resolve against Serena that I didn't know she had. She saved so many break points in that match. It was very close and entertaining. She ought to draw on that going forward.

Her next tournament appears to be $100k Contrexeville on clay. A bit of a change!
