Re: Azra Hadzic's Cheering Section

I wonder why she hated it so much? I mean I know a lot of people fall out of love with it and really hate the grind of the ITF tour but she is still so young and she had a lot of success...

Re: Azra Hadzic's Cheering Section

Azra just posted a pic of all her tennis trophies with the caption: "Yeah nah I didn't really play much tennis":

It looks like she's clearing tennis out of her life

Re: Azra Hadzic's Cheering Section

Definitely not the kind of news that we were hoping to hear, but at least we now know what is going on. I've always had a good feeling about Azra's ability to make it as a pro, so I'm sad to see her give it up this early in the game. With that said, I'm sure that she has got her reasons for making this decision, and that is something that you've just got to respect as a fan. The other thing about making these sorts of decisions is that a player will never know if it is the right decision for them or not until they actually do it. Let's face it, the best way to find out if the grass is really greener on the other side is to actually make the trek over there. If doing this is going to give her peace of mind, well then, I say good for her. Wishing you all the best in the future, Azra!

Re: Azra Hadzic's Cheering Section

This is really sad for us but if it is anything other than funding this is a decision she wanted to make I hope she is happy in her new life Tennis Players often struggle to adapt to new life so I hope she does well

Re: Azra Hadzic's Cheering Section

From Marc McGowan (of Aceland Tennis) Twitter, April 22:

Azra Hadzic has quit [tennis] and apparently has no intention of returning.

Re: Azra Hadzic's Cheering Section

Yeh, the points that she's missing out on are definitely going to hurt her ranking some, but I don't think that is anything for her to get too stressed out about. Azra got up to her career high on merit, so she can do it again. Actually, judging by her results over the last year or so, I think that you can make an argument that she is already a better player than her ranking high would suggest, so there's still a lot for us to be optimistic about when she returns.

^ Same here Jason. Love her positivity and from interviews she seems such a down-to-earth gal.

And not down or the next couple of 15k's is a worry as she's capable of taking both out.

I'm missing Azra already...

So here's hoping that she can return from whatever it is that ails her sooner rather than later.

I still find it hard to belive that Arza and Vicky are still only 19 as Territory said

Keep going Arza would love a deep run here.

Re: Azra Hadzic's Cheering Section

Great stuff Azra. A $50K quarter-final is a nice result

She has quite a few points to defend over the next month so this is a needed and a good sign.

And like Viki, it's very easy to forget that Azra's still only 19 as she's been around for ages now.
