Re: Ashleigh Barty

Even though Hantuchova, U-Rad (and Robson) aren't near their best, no-one would have wanted to see any of them in Ash's corner of the draw for her first tourney back.

This has been the perfect start and Ash will be very happy to make the semis. Well, Ash is probably happy enough making the quarters, but I'll be happy if she makes the semi

May be they did not phrase it well ... anyway I do not think that's what we should focus on

Ummmmmm....what top 300 player did she beat to qualify?

Go Ash though. Awesome 1r win, let's hope she can keep it up & also have a strong dub's tournie.

I know, I just don't want to get too optimistic since I've been burned far too many times by my faves before.

Now, if Ash goes on to win the title, I'll change my mind.

Hold your horses. U. Radwanska had just come back from injury.

Her next match vs. Hantuchova will be a better litmus test of where she is.

But results aside, it's so exciting to see Ash back! I hope she quickly becomes match-fit.
To be fair Hantuchova is a shadow of her former self if you want to go that route...
