Yes, she is doing really well on juniors, i remember her two years ago when she defeated Nefedova (it was the year of the incident on Eddie Herr in her match against Rovira). I remember her because her name is really easy to remember (and because Payola was able to defeat her after being baggeled on the first set)

Jokic who is doing fantastic here, was quite irregular this year.
Even someone like Tornado Ali Black had her bad moments this year.

Galfi did great during most season (she didn't started well the season) and i heard from people who watch her play, that she is quite impressive. And here she lost against El Houari, who is a good player (she won here U12 two years ago against Jokic). So i don't think there's nothing to worry about.

It's true she was the favourite on her half of the draw, but Jokic in the final (even not being seeded) is not a surprise. And in the other half, in my opinion (no matter she was seed number 8) Payola was the favourite (there were good players on her draw, and she didn't do well here in the past, but she is quite regular for her age) so the final is not exactly surprising.

I can't find it now either. I watched it last week and Liu was there, but of course she could change her mind. In fact Paula Arias wasn't on that list, but i think she finally will play there, because she and the rest of spaniards were travelling to Miami today

Liu is probably the main favourite for Orange Bowl, she won it last year, if she win again this year i think she will make history. I don't remember any player who won in the same cathegory two years
Are you positive she's playing 12s again? I can't find the entry lists anywhere.

I do hope so. I would have paid to see her reaction after this R2 loss though.

Well, i can tell who is not going to be top 100, Payola. Being spanish i highly doubt that she will play enough tournament to be even near of top 100. It's true that she played a bunch of U14 this year, more than other spaniards at her age, but she play a lot less than any other top european player. Being small, i think she will need some time to have good results against older players, and spanish players have a tendency to play more itfs than juniors (wich sometimes work, sometimes not).

Plews will be in the top 100 at the beginning of the year, other players like Shishkina and Tornado, will be there soon too. Being a top ranked junior is nice, and open some doors, but in the end, progression is what makes a player become pro. In fact this year we have Vekic example, with fantastic pro results and less than stellar junior results.
Anyway, for a player born in 1998 became a top 100 junior is a good goal for 2013

From Paula's blog it seems that Julia played pretty bad in the final. Anyway good tournament. And Jokic did a fantastic tournament.

Spain did well this year with one runner up and three semifinalist, i hope Orange bowl will be even better
