Re: Timea Bacsinszky

was a lot closer than i'd imagine. the way dasha played in the first set had me thinking and just hoping timi dont get thrashed!

timi's bit too defensive today, hoping dasha to commit more UEs, which she didn't. also dasha was quite focused on repeatedly attacking timi's FH, which is understandable... timi couldnt do much but put the ball back in the middle and let dasha making winners.
was trailing *2-5 15:40 but saved 2 match points, then went on to break dasha's serving for the match at *5-4, but then followed by a loose game to be broken at love and losing the match.

she hit 2 forehand winners tonight

anyhow it wasn't a bad lost imo as timi's still finding form, i was actually happy she got to R3 without any single matches played before AO. toughed it out against Giorgi but just not to be tonight..

ranking wise she's likely to hold on #15, unless Strycova beat Serena; or either Dasha, Pavlyuchenkova, Vandeweghe or Makarova reach final of AO.

Bacsinszky def. Kovinic 6-1, 7-6(5)
Saved a set point in the second set and came back from 1-4 in the tie-breaker.

Next up Gavrilova or Konjuh

Why is it a bad draw?

If she's fit she wins, the match up is good.
