Re: Taylor Townsend Thread

She pulled out of the tournament in Kentucky.... I wonder if got she injured or something.

But yes, I can verify all of those tweets were false. Not sure why that account is tweeting incorrect information.

shoparound posted this the day after those tweets were posted. We should have listened.

Re: Taylor Townsend Thread

Anytime she was pulled side to side by Vickery's shots (which aren't even that hard) she would miss the next shot

Sad to see this from Taylor

Seems likely.

Taylor was tragically bad today against Vickery. Her side-to-side movement is just atrocious ATM, especially to the backhand side, where she struggles enough as it is.

Hopefully she and Asia can get some wins in doubles here - it's a tough draw though. R1 vs Doi/Hibino.

Further, I don't want to see Taylor return to Zina for she missed months of tennis "uninjured", sitting and doing nothing for months at a time. Never seen a player as badly managed as Taylor. At least DY's dad has Taylor playing on the ITF circuit in consecutive months in the hope of getting her ranking back up, while ignoring her weight issues, unfortunately.

Re: Taylor Townsend Thread

Taylor dismisses Rodionova in 3 sets, displaying a nice net game. However, if she lost weight at Wimby, she gained it back sometime ere Stanford. She's as big as ever and had difficulty moving to return. Yet, her game remains just as fluid........served and volleyed a lot, finished after such for the most part. Came forward a ton on deep balls and executed the volley for points quite often. Backhand is a little stiff, but her forehand can still finish to win game point, tho' at times it's loopy. But, this blubber she continues to carry will get worse for her, for she couldn't get into position quicker to return, which made her flick the return back to be exploited or made an error. I wish she made a better effort to lose that girth and not kill her career, for her game is an exception to these baseline-dominated games of the far majority of today's players. Nevertheless, she wins and gets another chance to reach the main draw.

Re: Taylor Townsend Thread

Well, honestly didn't think she would do much here, since she's been MIA since the French. I really really just want to know that she is working hard on fitness, and just playing tournaments. There were several ITF's in the States she could've played, between the two majors. I really think she does better when she is playing a lot

Re: Taylor Townsend Thread

Interesting match against (16) Duan.

Ying-Ying reached the second round of Wimbledon as a qualifier last year, so she is definitely dangerous!

Still gluck to Taylor!
