toxina90 Hantuchova at the AO 2008. Although Maria was peaking too she'd have stood no chance. It's sad how her career peaked and ended in the same tournament.

I think I became a really big fan of JJ because of this match.

Halep def. Serena Singapore RR jk

I have to agree with the post above me, peak Serena would hardly lose. Peak power hitter would do anything on court and may only lose to another power hitter peaking like Venus, Muguruza, etc.

Disagree with these two.

To be honest, the only match I believe that Serena played near her peak and lost was the 08 Wimbledon Final.

Peak Serena = devastating, near-unbreakable serve and blasting returns to break your own serve. Can't really beat that.

This isnt Serena's peak. She didnt play badly, but peak? not even close. Peak Serena smacks winners off returns without blinking......Peak Serena doesnt lose......We could argue age has caught up and her peak is past her......

She had 49% first serves in. Positive w/ue. lol You mean 23 to 22.... Come on now. This was an average to poor match for Serena.

'03 USO YES Still the most exciting match I've seen.

AO '02 was nowhere near peak Hingis.

Peak Graf in both of those matches lost to Seles (AO '93, Roland Garros '92).

Davenport losing to Venus in Wimbledon final '05 was another epic peaking player losing a match that nobody deserved to lose.

Hingis vs. Venus USO 2000 SF.

That overhead though It was a pretty good lob from Venus though and forced Hingis to hit it on her back foot.
