Ash also looks to have lost weight, definitely slimmer than start of the year. Training is probably paying off.

Good article;

Re: Ashleigh Barty

She's made 4 consecutive 3rd rounds now, hope she breaks this streak.

Also Daria could lose a lot of points coming up, and if Ash does well she could snatch the #1 Aussie spot

She was not in the top 10 , she dropped off after Roland Garros. So it is just Konta and Venus

Re: Ashleigh Barty

Great win by Ash! How many top 10 wins this year does that make? Venus, Konta, someone pre-Wimbledon?

Definitely showing she's capable of being a top 10 player! (Though given the wildly fluctuating rankings at the moment, most of the top 50 could be top 10 in six months! hahahaha....)

Radwanska or Goerges next. Also, seeds dropping like flies in Wuhan. Aga was the only seed who won yesterday! (Though most of top 8 seeds are still to play...)

Good fighting spirit in the end and good TB.

She's slowly improving and considering she still makes a ton of UEs there's plenty more to do.

Playing Konta tomorrow Bashful Arty will have to cut down on the UF and bad serves. Konta lost poorly the other day so either she is in bad form or it was a bad day.

Ah yeah. Still a very consistent year. Only a handful of players have a better win% than her.

Lost to Sammy in Madrid and Kerber in Brisbane in R2.

Keep it going Ash. Hopefully that win over Venus will add to her belief against top ten opposition.

Re: Ashleigh Barty

Nice opening round from Ash! Can't really capitulate ranking wise (compared to previous tournaments ranking jumps) at this tournament unfortunately with such wide gaps between players ranked higher. Still great to see victories and strong play. Konta next who has been a little awol of late. Potential win but I think Jo may have Ash's number.
