Re: Anna Kalinskaya

R1: (LL) Anna Kalinskaya def. Kai-Chen Chang 6-1 6-3

Only saw a bit of it. Chang is not much of a clay-courter.

R2: Dayana Yastremska def. (LL) Anna Kalinskaya 6-1 6-4

Tough one for Anna. Dayana in great form whalloping winners left and right. She was barely missing until midway through the second set.

Anna had both thighs heavily strapped at the start and it seemed to be inhibiting her movement. At the set break she went off court and removed the strapping on her right thigh. It may have helped a bit to free her up but also coincided with Dayana coming down off her peak a little.

Second serve was too weak and poorly placed; Yastremska just crushed them back. 2nd serve points won - 1 of 17! Also too many errors into the net, mainly on forehand, and I put some of it down to her leg problems.

And Anna's break points saved - 0 of 7. :/

Re: Anna Kalinskaya

Mixed fortunes for Anna today.

QRF: Kamenskaya def. [3] Kalinskaya 6-2 6-4

First time she's lost to Kamenskaya. I only caught the very end of the match but I gather from comments on twitter that Anna was not playing very well.

However she's got into the draw as a lucky loser. Her first round is not bad (Kamenskaya got Svitolina). She plays Kai-Chen Chang (not a renowned clay courter). Winner to face Dayana Yastremska!

QR1: [3] Anna def. (wc) Ipek Oz 6-3 4-6 7-5

Oh boy! I didn't follow the scores but there were 17 breaks of serve and Ipek was up 5-3 final set. Somehow Anya managed to pull this one out.

Plays Kamenskaya next.

R1: Marcinkevica/Robson def. [2] Kalinskaya/Kuncikova 6-3 5-7 10-7

K&K were a double break down early in the 2nd set. They saved three match points at *3-5.

Unfortunately after an early lead in the match tiebreak they lost six points in a row and couldn't recover from there.

My friend who is there watched the first set and said Anna seems okay. No sign of taping or anything.

Re: Anna Kalinskaya

I'm guessing Anna's issue can't be too bad. She's still on the schedule for doubles later today.

The dream match-up is sort of happening. She's paired with Lenka Kuncikova and they are playing Diana Marcinkevica and Laura Robson!
