Elena really went to totally anonymity, extremely privet life. Even in Russia you don't know or hear almost nothing about her in last couple of years.

But it's still a bit scary and any positive thoughts, prayers, etc. would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear that Max, I know sadly how you feel, since a dear one of mine has cancer and how life can be cruel (sad but true though)

I am glad that it is curable!, I still am hoping for miracles for my sister too (she has an insulinoma, for now 4 years, been a rollercoaster ride many time, last scan did show shrinkage so we can move further for at least 3 months now, but it aint over yet sadly)

I'll pray for though i am not religious i do believe it somehow works a bit)

You'll be in my thoughts!

Truly sorry to hear that Max, but you will be fine... if you have to get Cancer yours is the one to have and very treatable, in fact I have a couple of customers who have both had that and made full recoverys.

Best wishes...

Re: Elena Dementieva Fans Club Vol 8

Totally agree with itzhak. Hope Lena does a Myskina and once the children grow up a bit, she takes on some tennis related role...

One more interview, most questions are the same as in the second interview I posted several posts above, but there are some different ones.

And this is for Max

Re: Elena Dementieva Fans Club Vol 8

It will be HUGE lose to the Russian tennis or in general if Elena will not be involved in some Tennis Coaching/Mentoring/Academy or sosmething similar. Right now, the motherhood might be something fresh and more important but in the future it will be waste of time if she will be "journalist" and not involved in Tennis.

She has been in a cave this whole year! I wanna thank the journalists that went to the cave to get the interview for us. Is good to know she's alive.

Re: Elena Dementieva Fans Club Vol 8

Guys, Lena is alive! As you know, Lena is almost 35 and thus journalists contacted her for interviews on the occasion. There are 2 I found - the first one is shorter, while the second one is longer and more interesting. I'm too lazy to translate (and honestly don't know if anyone still visits this forum), so google translate will have to do.

Re: Elena Dementieva Fans Club Vol 8

So while we have no Lena news (beside the birth of Sergey Maksimovich Afinogenov), we have bits and pices here and there...
Vera Zvonareva also became a mother this summer and in this article she says she keeps in touch with the other Russians who have a family now, like Lena.

And another mention of Lena, courtesy of Dinara Safina:
"With Elena and Vera, we're always in contact. They're beautiful girls. I've known Elena since I was a year old; she's an amazing person."

Lena remains tied with Steffi as the most successful tennis Olympian in singles. (One gold and one silver).
