Some Aussie teams have entered IW doubles.

In MD: Jurak/Rodionova
In ALT: Barty/Dellacqua (ALT#3), Kasatkina/Gavrilova (ALT#4), Stosur/Zhang (ALT#10)

So looks like Barty will play IW and Miami if she gets into Q

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Sam lost to Konjuh in Dubai R2 pretty easily.

Mon/Melichar lost to the 3rd seeds in Budapest dubs R1

Nastya/Darija lost in Dubai R2 to Ostapenko and whoever she was playing - hope there was drama!

Our only winner was Arina in Budapest dubs.

Nice to have four players playing the WTA circuit this week though!

^ Last direct entry was 180 into QD according to the draw sheet. She must have just missed out.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Sam had another win - R1 in Dubai

So after that awful streak she's now won matches in her last three WTAs. Hooray!

Nastya/Jurak had a good dubs win too.

Meanwhile in Budapest, Arina and Mon are in the dubs draw Dunno why Arina didn't make the qualifying draw though... her ranking must have been too low still when entries cut off?

Sam had a solid win over Sevastova 7-5 6-4! Barbora 95% next (plays Al Nahbani) will be tougher

She didn't retire, she was on a long injury layoff.

Her last tournament before she got injured was AO 2015, after that she had a doubles ranking of 162. Since her injury layoff was more than 6 months she has a protected ranking of 162 saved now.
