All Swiss SFs at Grade 5 Biel this week

Cvetkovic beat Meyer (Aut) in the QF and Ryser beat Dardaine (Fra). The other two QFs are still to be played, but are all-Swiss affairs: Geissler-Granwehr and Magun-Mettraux

Impressive results from Arlinda Rushiti

Last week:

Q1: [5]Arlinda Rushiti def. bye
Q2: [5]Arlinda Rushiti def. Shannon Cox 6-1, 6-3
Q3: [5]Arlinda Rushiti def. Bianca Beviona 6-1, 6-0
R1: [Q]Arlinda Rushiti def. [1]Lou Brouleau 6-1, 6-3
R2: [Q]Arlinda Rushiti def. [Q]Kanika Vaidya 7-6(5), 6-3
QF: [Q]Arlinda Rushiti def. [7]Clemence Fayol 4-6, 6-2, 6-4
SF: [3]Jacqueline Cabaj Awad def. [Q]Arlinda Rushiti 6-2, 6-3

Cabaj Awad easily won the title that week.

This week:

R1: [SE]Arlinda Rushiti def. [Q]Yulia Starodubtsewa 6-3, 6-4
R2: [SE]Arlinda Rushiti def. [2]Lou Brouleau 6-2, 6-1
QF: [SE]Arlinda Rushiti def. [7]Clemence Fayol 6-1, 6-0
SF vs. [3]Jacqueline Cabaj Awad again.

So far pretty much an exact copy of last week's results, but every win was quite a bit clearer. Maybe she can avenge the loss this time.

Good job this week from unranked junior Valentina Ryser at 25K Lenzerheide

Q1: Valentina Ryser def. Vanessa Pappa 6-3, 6-2
Q2: Valentina Ryser def. [13]Kim Fontana 6-4, 2-6, 7-5
Q3: Valentina Ryser def. [6]Giorgia Marchetti 6-4, 3-2 ret.

First ITF main draw for Valentina and it is at a 25K, too
She has been struggling on the junior tour lately, maybe this can give her another boost

Jade Haller who was born in 2004 travelled to Abidjan CIV this week and oh it paid off. She went all the way to the singles final and will soon be the highest ranked player of the 2004 group worldwide despite hardly being top 5 in CH.
She faces #1 Joksovic in the final. She will play another tournament here next week
