Re: Aussies in WTA events

Not sure about top 100 but definitely top 200 yes. Everytime I watch Storm she just seems to want to rush & bash the shit out of the ball and has no consistency whatsoever.

Reix is a tough draw considering the other seeds she could have got. IIrc she has a good serve and while the groundstrokes and returns are a bit hacky and pushy times, they could easily outlast Storm on an average day

Storm will have to be aggressive and take it to her. Hope she qualifies and gets herself some decent points and $$ because with a draw like this she could actually do ok if she plays really well. Storm is easily top 100 level when on.

Territory Top seed Linette withdrew from Nanchang now. What a mess of a draw. Come on Storm!

Yeah I'm playing it in Tennis Tipping and had to check that it's an actual International level event.

Good for players like Storm, if they can have a good couple of days then plenty of easy points on offer.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Great to see Storm winning a qualifying match in a WTA event.

But how amazingly weak is the Nanchang draw! Only two top 100 players (Linette and Nara) and they're barely top 100. Last player into MD is ranked 195. That's like WTA125 level, not $250K.

Storm plays Sherazad Reix to qualify so she's in with a real chance. Would be her first international WTA main draw, I assume? (If she gets there!)

Re: Aussies in WTA events

It looked like she would win with a double bagel
Although her opponent is apparently ranked about 590

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Well that was a complete fuckery from Storm... won 6-0 6-3, but from 6-0 5-0, took 8 MP to win the match

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Stosur lost to Kasatkina pretty tamely 7-6(1) 6-3.

However Dasha & Sam def Chuang/Pavlyuchenkova 10-8 in Match TB! Great start to the team

Disappointing scoreline... will be interesting to see how they go in doubles together!
