Sabatini had one foot in the semi-final – she was leading 6-1 5-1 - when she got the ‘yips’ on serve and the double-faults flowed. Sabatini’s five match points came and went and Fernandez won a third set 10-8. This wasn’t the first time Sabatini had choked on the big stage. She previously lost the 1991 Wimbledon final to Steffi Graf having served for the title. Twice.
Result: Fernandez d. Sabatini 1-6, 7-5, 10-8.
Find me anything that Mauresmo did that's on par with that CHOKE!
Just for the laughts, Mauresmo was a set a break in the semis of Wimbledon two years in a row, and she ended up losing.
In 2004 alone she choked against Serena being a set and a break up twice.

Mauresmo also lost a number of matches against Dementieva with some huge chokes as well if my memory serves well.

That being said i think definetly Mauresmo had the greater carreer, and i enjoyed both women kind of play, since they were both similar, saving the differences. Mauresmo more firepower, Gaby with the better hands..

She completely capitulated when she had the match all but won then proves that she could have easily won another game by making the 3rd set close so that tells you even more what a mental disaster she had that day. Yes Mauresmo fell apart late on in the match but that was always the case with her at the French she couldn't handle the pressure there.
Mary Joe went into an amazing form after being down 1-6 1-5. In her next match Mary Joe beat Arantxa 62 62 and was very close from beating Graf in the final, which tells you the level she reached from that.

This match is not the CHOKE (a las Wimbledon 93 final) you and a lot people imagine. This was voted the match of the year in Tennis Magazine in 1993.

I mean Canada has high-bouncing, slow HCs similar to RA (as Seles, Legend, and Sarin have all done well in Canada as in Australia) and Justine was able to deal with Bagelie just fine, and she was not the one with the better from coming in.

Wonderful highlights! Two other great matches they played was in Eastbourne final in 07, with Justine winning at 7-6 third set and the WTC final in Madrid in 06.

If, if, if...Momo didn't even play that well, had a negative W-UE-ratio IIRC...okay I shut up now

Not only was she playing much better, but as others have pointed out, her heavy topspin game is not something Henin is capable of dealing with, especially on Rebound Ace, when Amelie is in top form.

No. Henin in top form beats Mauresmo in top form on HC and clay definietly.
In that AO final, Henin had a 29% 1st serve percentage. That had nothing to do with Mauresmo's top spin.

When she called her a half man was it because if that was it the only one she humiliated was herself. As far as I was aware their head to head was pretty even.

It was brilliant strategy she hit heavy topspin to Henins backhand all match using Henin's height disadvantage against her. I know nowadays strategy is something that is only used when the coach comes onto court and tells his or her charge what to do mid match but back then players actually thought about what to do with their shots.
